Advocate Originals, a slate of LGBTQ programming from the Advocate magazine, will debut on Hulu on June 21 to coincide with Pride Month.

“The launch of Advocate Originals on Hulu is a meaningful step forward, both for equalpride and for what inclusive media can be,” said Mark Berryhill, CEO of the Advocate’s parent company equalpride. “This slate reflects our belief that purposeful content can also drive real value for audiences, advertisers, and partners. We’re proud to be building something with impact, and we’re just getting started.”

Leading the slate is the “Pride of Broadway Special,” a 20-minute program celebrating the LGBTQ+ stars and allies lighting up New York City’s theater scene. Hosted by ABC-7 New York weather anchor and “Good Morning America” contributing weather correspondent Sam Champion, the special features interviews, behind-the-scenes moments from Out and The Advocate’s Pride Issue cover shoots, and red carpet highlights from the annual Pride of Broadway Cover Party with Broadway icons and breakout talents including Kristin Chenoweth, Lea Salonga, Megan Hilty, Maleah Joi Moon, Idina Menzel, Adam Lambert, Cynthia Erivo and more.

On the film side, Advocate Originals will stream “Big Easy Queens,” a comedy drag thriller set in the heart of New Orleans (photo above). The movie stars “RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 17 queen Suzie Toot and cabaret drag artist Miss Bouvèé.

The lineup also includes “The Out100 30th Anniversary Special,” a show which celebrates the most influential LGBTQ+ figures and three decades of the Out100, and “Candis Cayne’s Secret Garden,” a portrait of one of TV’s most iconic trans voices.
