Eva Amurri revealed she underwent breast reduction surgery this month.
The actor was body-shamed last year for her low-cut wedding dress but she said on Monday her decision had nothing to with what happened.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I would never do anything because of the influence of bullies,” Amurri wrote in an Instagram story, per Today.
Amurri, the daughter of Oscar winner Susan Sarandon, took to Instagram on April 18 to list “7 Things I’ve Realized After Breast Reduction Surgery.” They included how difficult it was to sleep and the random bruising she has experienced. She gave photographic proof of the latter.
Amurri chronicled her journey on social media, telling followers “It feels surreal and empowering to be finally doing something that I had always wanted to do, but hadn’t simply because of fear of anesthesia.”
Last year, Amurri was criticized for accentuating her figure in a strapless, corseted dress in her wedding to chef Ian Hock that was attended by her three young children with first husband Kyle Martino.
She admitted in a blog post to being reduced to tears by the comments that included “put them away!”
In the ride home after the operation, Amurri said with a laugh it was “easy after I had a mental breakdown ― after that, it was easy.”
Amurri, 40, had a recurring part on the Fox country music drama “Monarch” (2022) starring her mother. She also appeared in multiple episodes on the sitcom “New Girl” and the 2009 series David Duchovny-starring series “Californication.”
Her movie credits include the 2012 Adam Sandler-Andy Samberg comedy “That’s My Boy” and the 2009 horror movie “Animals.”
