Perhaps Rihanna can stand under his umbrella.
Following the night’s “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” theme, A$AP Rocky strutted down the Met Gala 2025 red carpet in a classic black suit, a Marmot jacket and a plethora of shimmering accessories, including a Briony Raymond customized umbrella covered in 90 carats-worth of diamonds.
“This is literally designed by me,” the rapper, 36, told Vogue of his outfit, before showing off the red bottoms of his Christian Louboutin shoes.
Several fans theorized his high-fashion umbrella was intentionally shaped like a gun, as the gala comes after he was found not guilty of a 2021 shooting involving ex-friend A$AP Relli following a month-long trial.
“Lol ASAP got a gun on the end of his cane, too soon,” one netizen wrote on X, formerly Twitter, while a second added, “ASAP Rocky’s umbrella handle being a gun OMGGG.”
While his notoriously fashionably late girlfriend Rihanna did not join him for the carpet, she debuted her growing baby bump at the Carlyle Hotel in New York City earlier in the night, with a source confirming to Page Six that she’s pregnant with their third child.
For his part, Rocky — who is serving as a co-chair for this year’s ball — sported a plethora of other eye-catching accessories for fashion’s biggest night, including a diamond necklace and earrings, crystal-encrusted sunglasses and a black pearl Alex Moss ring.
Vogue announced in October 2024 that he would be joining actor Colman Domingo, race car driver Lewis Hamilton and Louis Vuitton designer Pharrell Williams as co-chairs for fashion’s biggest night, with a theme that celebrates the styles of black dandy men and “the importance of clothing in style to the formation of Black identities in the Atlantic diaspora.”
Rocky and Rihanna last attended the exclusive event in 2023, with the singer, 37, who was then expecting their second child together, covering her baby bump with a voluminous white floral Valentino gown.
For his part, A$AP Rocky went comparatively casual — at least on the bottom half — as he sported a Gucci suit jacket and a plaid kilt layered over a pair of shimmering jeans as has become his signature of late.
A source previously told Page Six that the “Love on the Brain” singer had a secret fitting for her look at 3 a.m. on Saturday morning, involving $25 million worth of Cartier jewels.
She removed her cape once inside the gala, revealing a matching rosette-adorned dress that highlighted her baby bump.
Both Rocky and Rihanna did not attend the Met in 2024, reportedly because the “Diamonds” singer was sick with the flu.
However, a source told Page Six Style that the couple were both in NYC on the big day.
