Good night and good luck to you, George Clooney.
The A-list actor hit the Tonys 2025 red carpet with his wife, Amal, on Sunday, with most of his signature gray hair thankfully back in action after he dyed it darker for his Broadway role.
Meanwhile, Amal dazzled in an off-the-shoulder gown dripping with pearls.
The appearance comes after the couple stepped out with close friend Bono and wife Ali Hewson for dinner in NYC last week, with Amal looking lovely in a cherry-printed Stella McCartney dress.
The “Ocean’s 11” star wore a classic black tuxedo as he showed off the new look after wrapping up his eight-week run as the star of “Good Night, and Good Luck,” in which he plays renowned journalist Edward R. Murrow.
For the role, 64-year-old George ditched his iconic salt-and-pepper strands in favor of a dark brown dye job and shaved his face — much to his own dismay and Amal’s disapproval — though he’s been letting it grow out as his time on stage comes to an end.
He’s eager to shed the “midlife crisis” look, telling Seth Meyers last week, “The last show [for ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’] is Sunday. We do a matinee, and then by the time we go to the Tonys that night [June 8], it’ll be gone.”
“It’s bad. It’s still dark on top, but it’s gray at the bottom. So you get that really nice-looking, grow-out of gray,” George ranted about the unnaturally dark dye job. “It really looks bad. It looks like [I’m] going through some horrible midlife crisis. I’m 64 — midlife is a little stretch.”
It would seem the transformation was worth it, as George is nominated for best performance by an actor in a leading role in a play at this year’s Tonys. “Good Night, and Good Luck” is also nominated in the scenic design, costume design, lighting and sound design categories.
