This mystery is solved.
On Monday, “White Lotus” actress Lisa, 28, took to Met Gala red carpet in a pantsless Louis Vuitton outfit that stirred up some controversy on social media.
The star wore lace briefs that were stitched with a collage of women designed by artist Henry Taylor, including one that fans were convinced was activist Rosa Parks.
Louis Vuitton told Page Six Style in a press release that the drawings were all “portraits of figures who have been a part of the artist’s life,” but a representative for Taylor directly responded to the rumors.
But in a statement made to Vulture, the rep clarified: “The figure featured in Lisa’s Louis Vuitton look is not Rosa Parks, but one of Henry’s neighbors.”
They continued, “The faces seen on this look, as well as on previous LV garments featuring Taylor’s artwork, are all drawn from his personal life — family members, friends, and neighbors.”
“These figures come directly from Henry’s existing artworks, which he provided to LVMH for Pharrell’s debut collection with Louis Vuitton in 2023,” they concluded.
Lisa and Pharrell have both not addressed the Twitter speculation and backlash.
The rapper also designed outfits for Sabrina Carpenter, Doechii, Pusha T, Future, Jeremy Allen White and more — as well as himself, of course. He served as a co-chair for the evening alongside A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo and Lewis Hamilton and wore an eye-catching blazer made entirely of pearls.
The theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” paid homage to black dandyism, with lots of celebrities re-creating looks from icons like André Leon Talley and Josephine Baker.
