A Met moment isn’t part of their love story just yet.
While plenty of A-listers walked the Met Gala 2025 red carpet on Monday, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce were absent from the high-fashion fête.
Sources told TMZ that while the couple was invited to the “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style”-themed event, they couldn’t make it due to their work schedules.
While the songstress hasn’t been spotted in public in weeks, the NFL player was in New York City earlier this week taking part in a photo shoot. And, he recently enjoyed a boys’ trip to Las Vegas with Patrick Mahomes and Justin Timberlake.
Swift hasn’t attended the Met Gala since 2016, when she co-hosted and attended wearing a snakeskin-textured silver Louis Vuitton mini befitting of the “Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” theme.
She also attended the gala six times before that, wearing designs by Oscar de la Renta (2014), J. Mendel (2013 and 2011), Ralph Lauren (2010) and Badgley Mischka (2008).

While Swift and Kelce have been spotted out and about everywhere from Coachella to the Eras Tour to the Super Bowl since they began dating in summer 2023, they’ve yet to make an official red carpet debut.
In fact, the “Cruel Summer” singer hasn’t posed on a step-and-repeat with a significant other since the 2008 VMAs, when she walked the carpet with then-boyfriend Joe Jonas and his bandmate brothers.
These days the music icon been enjoying some well-deserved downtime following the conclusion of her Eras Tour in December, the end of the NFL season and her appearance at February’s Grammys, where she repped Kelce in a Chiefs-red Vivienne Westwood dress accessorized with a ruby “T” leg chain.
Whenever she chooses to return to red carpets, we’re ready for it.
