The Rizzler is bringing his charm to the Thunderbolts cast, though Julia Louis-Dreyfus wasn’t fully in the loop.
Christian Joseph, the 9-year-old social media sensation known as The Rizzler, hit up a special screening of the upcoming Marvel movie on April 30 at New York’s iPic Theater, hosted by the Cinema Society.
Rocking a Red Guardian costume, Joseph posed with several stars from the film, including Louis-Dreyfus, Lewis Pullman, Florence Pugh, and Wyatt Russell, all while flashing his signature “rizz face” — a cheeky chin stroke and a playful camera mug.
David Harbour, who plays Red Guardian, skipped the event, but Joseph certainly kept the vibe alive.
In an interview with BuzzFeed, Louis-Dreyfus joked about meeting the viral star, starting with, “Who knew?”
When asked if she realized the photo had gone viral, she admitted: “Um, I really didn’t know that, and no offense to that nice child, but I didn’t know who he was.”
The interviewer quipped, “You guys looked very friendly, so I’m sure he’ll be completely fine.”
Louis-Dreyfus added, “Yeah, he was pretty cute because he showed me his moves. He was dressed like Red Guardian, so I said ‘show me your Red Guardian moves,’ not knowing he was The Rizzler.”

Joseph, who boasts 1.6 million TikTok followers, later posted a video from the screening, still in character. He walks up to the counter and says, “Two tickets please,” prompting the employee to ask, “For what movie?” Joseph points to his Red Guardian outfit, hoping for a lightbulb moment.
Joseph first went viral on Halloween 2023, dressed as Black Panther and delivering hilarious commentary that earned him 2.5 million likes. His iconic pose quickly turned him into an internet sensation.
“Rizz” — short for “charisma” — refers to flirting or charm, and it was crowned Oxford University Press’s Word of the Year in 2023.
Thunderbolts, based on the Marvel comic, follows a team of anti-heroes forced into a life-or-death situation.
Directed by Jake Schreier of Paper Towns fame, the film hits theaters on May 2, 2025.
