In space, no one can hear you scream, but on Earth the “Alien” franchise continues to give fans lots of great music to listen to.

Pop culture collectibles company Mutant, partnering with Hollywood Records and 20th Century Studios, will issue two new and exclusive musical releases on physical media to commemorate Alien Day. On April 26, Mutant will not only release “The Romulus Suite EP” on limited-edition colored vinyl, but the first-ever CD release of composer Benjamin Wallfisch’s full “Alien: Romulus” score.

Alien Day, set on a date that echoes the LV-426 colony portrayed in James Cameron’s 1986 film “Aliens,” has become an annual tradition. In past years, Reebok has released “stomper” sneakers modeled after the shoes worn by Sigourney Weaver in the sequel, and other brands have formed partnerships to celebrate what’s become one of the most enduring franchises in cinema history.

During his initial scoring sessions for “Alien: Romulus,” Wallfisch produced a nearly 15-minute-long suite of themes. The composition was eventually cut down for use over the film’s closing credits, but for this special release, he reconstructed it and added six previously-unheard musical cues.

“The Romulus Suite EP” is pressed on “acid blood”-colored 140 gram vinyl, and packaged in a screen-printed clear poly sleeve.
