Another tribute has been chosen.
The new “Hunger Games” prequel “Sunrise on the Reaping” has cast McKenna Grace as Maysilee Donner, one of the tributes from District 12 alongside lead character Haymitch Abernathy.
The “Sunrise on the Reaping” novel was published on March 18 and takes place 24 years before the events of the original Hunger Games, when Haymitch was chosen as one of the unlucky tributes to fight to the death. Woody Harrelson originated the role of Haymitch in the original “Hunger Games” series alongside franchise star Jennifer Lawrence, but newcomer Joseph Zada will play a younger version of him in “Sunrise on the Reaping,” it was announced yesterday. Whitney Peak will play Haymitch’s girlfriend Lenore Dove Baird.
“Sunrise on the Reaping” will hit theaters on November 20, 2026.
