“Necaxa,” a “Welcome to Wrexham” spinoff docuseries featuring Eva Longoria, is set to premiere on FXX Aug. 7 at 9 p.m. ET.

Longoria partnered with “Welcome to Wrexham” producers Rob Mac and Ryan Reynolds for the FX and Disney+ Latin America show.

The docuseries follows Longoria as she tries to revive Club Necaxa, a football team in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Mac and Reynolds pitch in to support her effort. “Once a powerhouse in Mexican football, Club Necaxa has spent decades navigating instability including relocations and near-constant reinvention. Though its legacy has flickered in and out of the national spotlight, a passionate core of diehard supporters continues to believe, clinging to the dream that their beloved ‘Rayos’ will one day rise again,” the synopsis reads.

During the first three weeks of its run, viewers can expect two episodes every Thursday. Afterwards, one episode will drop each Thursday. The episodes can be streamed the next day on Hulu. International viewers can find the series on Disney+.

“Welcome to Wrexham” was recently renewed for a fifth season. That show centers on Reynolds and Mac’s ownership of Wrexham AFC. The two have a stake in Club Necaxa, as does Longoria.

Longoria, Mac and Reynolds serve as executive producers for “Necaxa,” alongside Cris Abrego, Rachelle Mendez, Nicholas Frenkel, Jackie Cohn, George Dewey, Alex Fumero and Diana E. Gonzales. Producers of the show are Hyphenate Media Group, More Better Productions, 3 Arts Entertainment and Maximum Effort.

“Rob and Ryan helped Wrexham AFC become one of the greatest sports stories of our time and what has happened in Wrexham, Wales is truly magical. With Eva Longoria, they’re now teaming to support the dreams and aspirations of the Necaxa fans and Aguascalientes community too,” Nick Grad, president of FX Entertainment, previously said.
