Jimmy Kimmel commented on Donald Trump’s nomination of Fox Business host Sean Duffy for secretary of transportation during his Tuesday night monologue, calling it “one of his least embarrassing picks.”

Though Duffy served as a U.S. representative for Wisconsin from 2011 to 2019, he started his career in the ’90s as a reality star, which Kimmel was quick to point out.

“Duffy served in Congress for eight years, but you know what he did before that? He was on ‘The Real World‘ and ‘Road Rules’ on MTV,” Kimmel said. “[Trump] hired the guy from ‘Road Rules’ to be secretary of transportation, because of course he did — the word ‘road’ is right in there.”

Kimmel continued, “And that’s one of his least embarrassing picks. Maybe he’ll pick one of the Teen Moms to be secretary of labor!”

He cracked that Trump’s appointments are like a “season of ‘Dancing With the Stars.’” Other new nominations to Trump’s cabinet include Brendan Carr to head the FCC, Dr. Mehmet Oz as administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and former WWE executive Linda McMahon as secretary of education. To that, Kimmel asked: “What the WWF is going on here?”

Kimmel also circled back to Matt Gaetz, Trump’s selection for attorney general, who was — until his cabinet appointment — under investigation by the House Ethics Committee for allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use. He has also been the subject of a federal investigation for allegedly sex trafficking a 17-year-old girl. Gaetz has denied all allegations against him.

Kimmel noted that the House Ethics Committee is set to meet on Wednesday to decide whether or not to release the report from their investigation.

“Matt Gaetz, also known as the caucasian Diddy, is in the hot seat right now,” he said, noting that “at least two women have testified before the House Ethics Committee claiming Gaetz paid them for sex.”

After playing a clip of one of the women’s lawyers alleging that Gaetz paid them using Venmo, Kimmel called him the “Venmolester” and said: “The fact that Matt Gaetz was stupid enough to pay for sex with Venmo, that alone should be disqualifying.”
