Tate McRae and her boyfriend, Kid Laroi, nearly “got eaten by a whale” during a jet ski accident over the summer.

The “Greedy” songstress opened up about the traumatic experience on Capital Radio with host Jimmy Hill on Wednesday night.

“[There was] a quite scary accident you had over the summer on a jet ski with your boyfriend, The Kid Laroi, where you fell off and nearly got eaten by a whale,” the show host said.

“Have you banned him from driving any sort of vehicle now? Is he a bit of a liability?” Hill, 35, jokingly asked.

“Well, now I do,” McRae, 21, said about the 21-year-old Australian rapper.

“I didn’t realize what I was getting myself into. You know you have trust in your boyfriend, but also jet skis are the worst. They flip over every two seconds.”

McRae explained they found themselves “ten feet away” from a whale when they landed in the water.

“It was the big moment of our trip,” she said, seeming shaken up from the experience. “I was like, ‘We nearly just landed in a whale’s mouth!’

“That’s so freaky to me, the ocean is just a really freaky thing to me, you’re just in there and it’s black and your toes are dangling and that’s so weird.”

“I got that feeling when we fell in the water and you’re just tingling at the bottom of your feet and you’re like, ‘We could die right now,’” the Canadian singer recalled.

McRae and Laroi seemingly got through the traumatic experience together as they were seen packing on the PDA during her “Think Later” tour stop at Madison Square Garden in New York City in August.

The two performed for the first time together and sang Laroi’s 2020 track “Without You.”

The “Exes” singer and Laroi were first romantically linked in January when they were seen dining together in Los Angeles.

A month later, the couple confirmed their relationship by holding hands at a Super Bowl gathering and hard launched their romance to fans in April.

McRae previously dated hockey athlete Cole Sillinger from around 2021 to 2023, and the “Stay” crooner was involved with model Katarina Deme from 2020 to 2023.
