Netflix is bursting with vibrant, must-see content this July 2025, thanks to the fantastic films and specials that will tickle you with knee-slapping humor, grip you with shocking true stories, and so much more. Netflix is releasing two standout original films at different points in the month, with early July’s Charlize Theron-led sequel film The Old Guard 2 and then towards the end of the month, Adam Sandler’s highly anticipated sports comedy, Happy Gilmore 2, which are both poised to potentially land in the Netflix Top 10.

  1. Released July 25

    Nearly three full decades after the release of Happy Gilmore, Adam Sandler is back as the titular character for a must-see sequel sports comedy streaming exclusively on Netflix beginning in late July. Happy Gilmore 2 follows retired golfer Happy Gilmore (Sandler) as he picks up his clubs once more in an effort to win enough money to pay for his daughter, Vienna’s (Sunny Sandler) ballet school.     Tyler Perry returns to suit up as everyone’s favorite auntie, Mabel “Madea” Simmons this 13th film in the Madea cinematic universe. Madea’s Destination Wedding is a Netflix Original comedy that follows Madea (Perry) and the rest of her relatives as they travel to the Bahamas for Tiffany’s (Diamond White) destination wedding. But celebrating her beloved grandniece proves to be anything but smooth sailing as Madea and the other Simmons family members encounter rising tensions, doubts, and odd behavior that will thrust the entire occasion into delightful chaos.

    Aap Jaisa Koi is an Indian romantic drama film that follows reserved and traditional 42-year-old Sanskrit professor Shrirenu Tripathi (R. Madhavan) as he crosses paths with independent and unapologetically outspoken French instructor, Madhu Bose (Fatima Sana Shaikh). Despite their many differences, the two form a tender and life-changing relationship that must endure scutiny and challenges in the face of diverging worldviews, questions of compatibility, and the patriarchy.

  5. Released July 10

    This Netflix Original sci-fi drama thriller out of Germany follows couple Tim (Matthias Schweighöfer) and Olivia (Ruby O. Fee) as they are forced to work with their neighbors to escape their apartment building after a mysterious brick wall inexplicably surrounds the entire structure overnight.     On October 15, 2009, in Fort Collins, Colorado, a homemade flying saucer took flight and was believed to have a six-year-old boy stuck inside, inciting national panic and frantic efforts to rescue the trapped “Balloon Boy.” This Netflix Original documentary delves into what really happened that day and how what seemed to be a potential nationwide catastrophe turned out to be a strange hoax that led to criminal charges and incited rage from people all across America.

    Almost Cops is a Netflix Original buddy cop comedy out of the Netherlands that follows dedicated and overzealous special investigating officer Ramon (Jandino Asporaat) as he is made to team up with reckless ex-detective Jack (Werner Kolf) to find and stop a killer who has been wreaking havoc across Rotterdam.
